Mount Everest, located in Nepal, is the world’s highest peak. It is a part of the Himalayan mountain ranges. Climbing it requires dedication, concentration, perseverance, patience and skill.
As kids, we developed some of these attributes playing board games in small groups. That’s how I decided to create a simple virtual board game that would allow me to climb Mount Everest.
While creating the game, there were a lot of things to consider. The layout was intended to show the two routes to climb the mountain, and the various base camp locations. There being only two routes is the reason to keep only 2 players. So each player rolls a virtual dice and depending on the number, the movement of ascending or descending the mountain would appear in a message.
The game was developed in processing to be played by two players using the ‘r’ key and the mouse click.
It is not the most complicated game in terms of playing, but is more about having the patience and determination to complete it.
